Within the framework of the Erasmus project of the European Comission/Union „SurgTTT” – Professional profile of a surgical trainer – have been formed by an international strategic partnership of Germany, Spain, Romania and Hungary.

Last year, in May the consortium also prepared a questionnaire about the speciality trainings, the possibilities and way of teaching in each country (Figure 1). According to the regulations of the European Union, originally English-language questions have been translated to national languages and filled in paper or in online platform. Finally, we had more than 300 fulfilled questionnaires from 4 country.

The following details have been highlighted that one third part of residents received only verbal information during their practical process or the 6-year-surgical training wasn’t previously planned for almost 49% of surgical residents in Germany. The issues are similar to these rates in many other European countries. Residents educated by consultants, mentors and tutors according to their own pedagogical abilities.
